Original Idea

My initial idea for my magazine was to create a new fashion,music and lifestyle magazine that would appeal to my target audience aged 17-25 years old. I chose the name PRISM because I thought it was an interesting concept to think that a prism is a transparent optical element with flat surfaces that reflects light, i linked this to music by knowing that the genre of music someone listens to usually reflects their mood, the concept is also very current and new relating to the purpose of my magazine. My magazine is going to be aimed at young adults with an interest in new upcoming,on trend music and clothing. The layout of my magazine is going to be sleek and glossy, the front cover will have an establishing masthead with the same bold font on every cover. My magazine would possibly have a different colour scheme on every issue but always sticking to the masthead and the actual prism behind the masthead will often change colour every month. I will take inspiration from from Q and Billboard magazine i like the way everything is laid so spaced out and not too over crowded. I would like my double page spread to be quite simple with a structured colour scheme and font type.
